Central Bank: 36 percent of Russians keep funds in cash
The Central Bank of the Russian Federation published the results of a survey, from which it follows that 36 percent of the country’s residents prefer to keep their savings in cash. They cited force of habit, the assumption that “paper” rubles are more readily accepted in stores, and the view that cash is protected from cyber risks as reasons.
79 percent of respondents said that they use a bank card, 38 percent – a mobile bank, 18 percent – a fast payment system. Those who prefer a plastic card said that it can be carried with them and used for remote financial transactions. TSB RF.
