The press service of the Moscow Planetarium announced the date when a total lunar eclipse is expected in eastern Russia. It can also be seen in Moscow.
“In Moscow it will be possible to see only the very end of the eclipse, its penumbral phases,” the astronomers warned.
The eclipse will be visible in the capital for less than half an hour: November 8 from 16:29 to 16:56.
The Moscow Planetarium explained that such a short interval is due to the fact that “the Moon will be under the horizon all the time of the eclipse.”
This phenomenon will be fully seen by those who will be on November 8 in the east of Russia, in the west of North America, in the Pacific Ocean, and also in the north of Greenland. It will last almost 6 hours, its maximum phase is expected at 13:59 Moscow time.
On October 25, a partial solar eclipse took place in Moscow. The Sun was covered by the Moon by 63%.
