In Russia, over the past six months, the demand for couriers has sharply increased. The number of vacancies increased more than 1.5 times (65 percent), which led to a sharp increase in income in this area of employment.
If in July 2022 the average salary of delivery workers in Russia was 45,000 rubles, by October their incomes had grown by 30 percent.
Thus, the labor market was recovering after the spring recession, when most employers stopped hiring employees.
At the same time, the number of vacancies in delivery during that period also dropped noticeably, and there was a drop in the salaries of couriers, Lenta.ru reports with reference to a study by the Zarplata.ru service.
Analysts attribute the growth in demand and competition among employers for couriers to holiday sales in retail chains and marketplaces.
In addition, colds were widespread in a number of regions, due to which many couriers could not work due to illness, and in the Urals and Siberia, due to severe frosts, the popularity of delivering goods increased significantly.
