There has been no turning point in the fight against cyber attacks on the Russian financial system. Their number continues to grow, Elvira Nabiullina, head of the Bank of Russia, said at the Ural Forum “Cybersecurity in Finance”.
She noted that there is a result, it was possible to avoid the risk of an explosive increase in attacks. But their number is growing and the trend will continue.
Nabiullina noted that the share of fraudulent attacks in non-cash trade has decreased.
“The technology of social engineering continues to dominate, although its weight has decreased somewhat, but this should not reassure us, other technologies will appear. In my opinion, there was no turning point, of course, unfortunately,” the head of the Central Bank explained.
Elvira Nabiullina lamented that the fight against the cyber threat is slow and fragmented. In addition, scammers are creative and very focused. In confrontation with them, speed and unprecedented coordination are important.
