Russia will offer the countries of the Middle East to create new weapons together

Russia will offer the Middle Eastern countries to jointly create weapons, said Alexander Mikheev, General Director of Rosoboronexport (ROE), on the eve of the international arms exhibition IDEX-2023, writes “RIA News”.
“Today we are actively working on proposals on the most relevant forms of partnership for the Middle East states <...> Rosoboronexport is considering options for the joint creation of modern high-tech products, including a fifth-generation fighter based on the Checkmate light tactical aircraft,” Mikheev said.
He added that joint development and production of air defense systems (air defense), weapons for the ground forces, as well as equipment for the navy will also be proposed.
The fifth generation Checkmate single-engine aircraft was developed by the aviation company “Dry”. Manufacturers note that the advantages of the aircraft are the low cost of a flight hour, stealth, open architecture, as well as indicators according to the cost-effectiveness criterion. The fighter was presented in Russia in July 2021. The foreign premiere took place in the same year at the Dubai Airshow.

According to Mikheev, the Indian side pays “great attention to the achievements” of Russian aircraft manufacturers, but no negotiations are underway yet.
