Musk: the failure to deploy the Starlink network over Crimea is related to anti-Russian sanctions

American businessman Elon Musk said that his refusal to turn on Starlink satellite communications in the Crimea region to attack Russian ships by drones of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is due to the effect of anti-Russian sanctions from the United States of America.
According to him, these restrictions prohibited him from committing these actions. The American entrepreneur made the corresponding statement during an online conference on technology development.
“Initially, the reason Starlink was turned off was that Washington imposed restrictions on the Russian Federation. These sanctions include Crimea, and my company is not allowed to launch a connection there,” Musk said.
He clarified that in order to turn on Starlink over the territory of Crimea, he needed to obtain permission from the American authorities. Musk’s company did not have such permission at the time of the Kyiv regime’s appeal.
