The development of the Far East is an absolute priority for Russia for the entire 21st century. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin during his speech at the plenary meeting of the EEF.
“The rapid development of the Far Eastern regions is our absolute priority for the entire 21st century,” he said.
Putin noted that in the Far East there are “almost half of our forests and gold reserves,” as well as more than 70% of fish, diamonds, over 30% of titanium, copper, etc. In addition, the most important strategic enterprises, seaports and railways operate in the regions roads. The President emphasized that the role of the Far East for the future of Russia is “exceptionally great.”
Eastern Economic Forum was first held in 2015. It was created by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The main objective of the EEF is stated to be strengthening ties between the international investment community, Russian entrepreneurs, federal, regional and local authorities, and a comprehensive expert assessment of the economic potential of the Far East. This year the EEF takes place from September 10 to 13 in Vladivostok.
