Social network X (formerly Twitter) may become paid – platform CEO Elon Musk announced a monthly subscription. The entrepreneur stated this at a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“X goes to a low monthly fee [для борьбы] with huge armies of bots,” Musk said (quote by NBC News). The entrepreneur did not disclose the cost of the likely subscription.
After purchasing Twitter in the fall of 2022, Musk began to carry out large-scale reforms of the social network. The businessman, in particular, advocated an amnesty for blocked accounts (and unblocked the page of former US President Donald Trump), and also introduced a paid Twitter Blue subscription for $7.99 per month, which provides a blue check mark next to the account name, the ability to edit tweets, etc.
Twitter has been renamed – the platform is now called X. The network’s logo is now the letter X instead of a blue bird, and the domain has changed to x.com. In addition, Musk announced the launch of audio and video calls, the ability to hide your likes from other users, and also announced the removal of the function for users to block other accounts.
