On the night of August 17-18, the smell of burning will be felt in some areas of the capital, the press service of Mosecomonitoring warned in the telegram channel. The unusual smell will remain until the morning.
The message says the following: “According to the preliminary forecast, on August 17 and 18, the southeast direction of air mass transfer will continue.” At night and in the morning, according to the warning, “concentrations are likely to increase with the possible short-term appearance of burning smells in the atmospheric air.”
It is noted that as of 16:00 on Wednesday, isolated cases of detection of pollutants in the air were revealed in Moscow. Their concentration did not exceed the permissible values.
And on August 18, according to Mosecomonitoring, “meteorological conditions will contribute to the dispersion of emissions in the atmosphere.”
On the morning of August 17, Western residents began to complain about the smell of burning. southern and southwestern regions of the capital. Rosleskhoz explained that it smells of burning because of light smoke from an already localized fire in the Ryazan region. And there are no fires within Moscow.
