Residents of Moscow, as part of the Share the Warmth campaign, tied over 8.5 thousand warm clothes for the mobilized, the press service of the department of labor and social protection of the population of the capital reports.
More than 10,000 people, aged 7 to 80 and older, took part in the action. “Our children who defend the Motherland will be brought more than 8,500 warm clothes by the New Year,” Vladimir Filippov, deputy head of the department, is quoted in the message. “Together with the parcels, our fighters will receive a piece of warmth, love and support,” the message emphasizes.
Muscovites tied mobilized mittens, socks, scarves and hats. The mobilized will also receive thousands of letters and postcards from Muscovites with words of support and good wishes.
It is specified that the townspeople knitted about 5 thousand socks, more than a thousand mittens and gloves.
The charitable action Share the Warmth within the framework of the Moscow Longevity project was held from 1 to 16 December.
