Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko at a meeting of the State Duma Committee on Health Protection said that over the past three years, mortality from cancer has decreased by more than 5%, and during the implementation of the federal project to combat cancer – by 7%
“Although the fight to reduce the death rate of cancer patients is the most difficult task,” Murashko emphasized.
According to the head of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, currently more than four million people in Russia with malignant neoplasms are under medical supervision.
The day before, oncologist Ivan Karasev said that modern microwave ovens are safe for human health and cannot provoke the appearance of cancer when used, with the exception of some cases.
According to Karasev, microwaves “can’t physically cause any cancer.”
Such risks appear only “if we are dealing with faulty, non-certified equipment made by craftsmen, as they say, on the knee,” the doctor said.
At the same time, he noted that it is important to use the device according to the instruction manual. So, the safe distance to a working microwave oven is at least half a meter, the doctor warned.
