Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko admitted that Russia was able to overcome the fashion for alcoholic “binge.” Writes about this RBC.
According to Murashko, recent years indicate a significant decrease in alcohol consumption in Russia. In particular, in 2022, alcohol consumption per capita decreased by almost 5% compared to pre-Covid 2019.
The Minister of Health also noted that in 2019 there were 9.06 liters of ethanol per person per year, in 2021 – 8.82 liters, in 2022 – 8.62 liters. However, 15 years ago this figure was 18 liters per person per year, he added.
According to Murashko, this trend is largely the result of consistent government policy aimed at reducing the harmful consumption of alcoholic beverages.
