JSC “Mosvodokanal” has begun work on the removal of water supply and sewerage networks from the construction zone of traffic interchanges of the Solntsevo – Butovo – Varshavskoe highway.
Where is work carried out
Work is underway on the section from Polyana Street to Simferopol Highway and will take place in two stages. More than three kilometers of water supply networks with a diameter of 100 to 1200 mm, as well as 1.8 km of sewer networks from 225 to 900 mm in diameter, will be transferred from the development zone.
About the features of the project
The route of water supply and sanitation pipelines will be laid in an area saturated with a large number of underground utilities. Therefore, several laying methods are used: open and trenchless technologies, such as auger and “pipe in pipe”. Let’s talk about them in more detail.
For the convenience of pedestrians and drivers
To implement the project, the specialists chose several methods: open laying and trenchless technologies, such as, for example, auger and “pipe in pipe”.
The auger is used for quick laying of pipelines in densely built-up areas, under various obstacles, roads, embankments and near communications. With the help of a drilling head fixed on an auger rig, a channel of the required diameter is made in the soil. The waste soil is removed through a system of augers to the outside, while pipes or cases are pressed through to prevent collapse. Refusal of a large number of earthworks allows minimizing discomfort for residents and does not violate the landscaped area.
The “pipe in pipe” method is an innovative technology for the restoration of damaged or worn pipes without the need for their complete dismantling.
Trenchless technology allows carrying out repair and restoration work of any complexity near any infrastructure without the risk of damage.
To date, trenchless technologies are used by Mosvodokanal in 90% of cases.
The removal of networks for the construction of the Solntsevo – Butovo – Warsaw highway is carried out by the so-called captures, that is, in parts, while maintaining the entrance to existing buildings and structures. This creates convenience for residents and vehicles passing on the roads.
Domestic means reliable
Mosvodokanal has been actively working in the field of import substitution over the past years. This is expressed not only in the search for Russian-made equipment and materials, but also in the introduction of advanced methods and technological processes in the field of water treatment and sanitation. The specialists of the enterprise studied the proposals of many leading domestic factories and conducted research, during which equipment and materials with the best technical and economic indicators were determined.
The materials that are used for the implementation of the removal of water disposal and sewerage networks at the site of the southern understudy of the Moscow Ring Road are also Russian-made. These are pressure multilayer polyethylene pipes, products made of high-strength cast iron with nodular graphite.
Russian-made pipes are distinguished by high strength, resistance to damage, reliability and manufacturability. These materials have proven themselves in many projects of Mosvodokanal.
High-quality shut-off and control valves deserve special attention, without which the operation of water supply and sanitation systems would be impossible. Domestic manufacturers today produce many high-quality types of these devices, whether they are wedge gate valves, butterfly valves or slide gates.
The scale is impressive
The road under construction is planned as a backup of the southern part of the Moscow Ring Road, connecting Borovskoe, Kyiv, Kaluga and Varshavskoe highways. As a result, the capacity of the largest highways in the south and southwest of the capital will increase, and the transport accessibility of the settlements of the Novomoskovsky District and the Moscow region will improve.
It is planned to complete the work on the removal of water supply and sanitation networks in 2024.
