More than half of the parents in the Belgorod region would like to return their children from other regions, where they were sent due to mass shelling from Ukraine. About it reported Minister of Education of the Belgorod Region Andrei Milekhin during an operational meeting.

According to him, 51% of parents surveyed want their children back 21 days after their departure. The authorities of the regions where the children were temporarily taken are ready to keep them until the end of May. Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov instructed his subordinates to strengthen efforts to inform parents about the possibility of longer residence outside the Belgorod region.

“The children are accommodated as comfortably as possible from the point of view of the capabilities of each region. We are very grateful to everyone who accepted the children and is caring for them. Yes, there are questions that come from parents, but each question is immediately processed. The conclusion is: maximum attention to our children is ensured. The situation in the territory continues to be difficult. Two years of Covid, two and a half years of a special military operation… It seems to me that our children who left have a unique opportunity to finish the school year calmly,” said Mr. Gladkov.

In total, more than 12 thousand children have left the Belgorod region since the end of March. They relax, practice in sports, recreational and educational institutions in several dozen regions of Russia.

Residents of the Belgorod region began to leave the region in mid-March, when Ukrainian armed forces began shelling the region more often. Last week, the governor during a live broadcast on social networks statedthat residents of the regional center, the number of attacks on which has decreased, can return to the region.
