Moscow schoolchildren “took” several awards at the team programming Olympiad

A team of Moscow schoolchildren Anton Stepanov, Alexey Vasiliev and Alexander Klimchuk from the Second School Lyceum and School No. 57 became the winners of the XXIII All-Russian Team Olympiad for Schoolchildren in Programming. The guys won gold medals and the competition cup, having solved 11 out of 12 proposed problems.

The Olympics were held at several venues at once – in St. Petersburg, Barnaul, Almaty, Sirius and Yerevan. In total, 220 teams from different regions of Russia and foreign countries fought for the victory. The capital was represented by 21 teams at the Olympiad. In addition to the winners, four teams were awarded silver medals and one bronze medal, 14 teams were awarded diplomas of various degrees.

The final competition consisted of only one round, which included several mathematical and logical tasks. The guys had five hours to complete all the tasks. Moreover, the tasks tested not only the programming skills of schoolchildren, but also their mathematical thinking and functional literacy.

According to the organizers of the competition, the All-Russian Team Olympiad for Schoolchildren in Programming is one of the most prestigious computer science competitions in our country. The winners of the regional stages are invited to the final. Each team consists of three students of any age. The Olympiad is aimed at popularizing scientific knowledge and developing students’ interest in research activities.
