A graduate of the boarding school named after A. N. Kolmogorov at Moscow State University. MV Lomonosov Ekaterina Bobkova became the absolute winner of the Open International Astronomy Olympiad, which ended in Saransk.
During the week, Saransk hosted the International Astronomy Olympiad, in which children from eight countries of the world took part in a remote format. The Russian team included four schoolchildren from the capital, as well as two students from the Mordovian Republican Lyceum for gifted children.
The competition consisted of four rounds – theoretical, practical, observational and express rounds. As a result of the Olympiad, all members of the Russian national team received gold medals. If we talk about Moscow schoolchildren, then, in addition to Ekaterina Bobkova, gold was won by: Elisey Zhdanov, a student of school No. 2007, Ilya Prosyanoy, a student of the Letovo school, and a student of the Center for Pedagogical Excellence Kirill Roshchin.
Traditionally, the preparation of the team for the competition took almost a year. Six people were selected out of almost 120 schoolchildren – winners and prize-winners of the All-Russian Olympiad for Schoolchildren in Astronomy. These are those who showed the highest results during the qualifying period. Also this summer, training camps for the Russian national team were held at the Sirius Center.
