Moscow schoolchildren are invited to SPACE, MOUSE AND MUSHROOM

Pupils of grades 8-11 in the remaining two and a half academic months will be able to take part in three interdisciplinary olympiads, organized by the Center for Pedagogical Excellence of the Moscow Department of Education and Science. A feature of all three competitions is game plots.

The first championship is called “Team Strategic Moscow Competition” (COSMOS). According to the plot, the team – it can be from seven to fifteen people – goes on a space expedition. For the mission to be successful, its participants need to find solutions to problems in all school subjects – from astronomy to art history. Independent teams of schoolchildren can do this until March 15, teams from educational institutions – until April 1.

The second game Olympiad is called the “Tournament of Moscow Intelligent Schoolchildren” (MOUSE). Teams of schoolchildren in the amount of five to seven people can participate in it. Here the children will have to demonstrate their knowledge in Russian and linguistics. The format of the tournament will resemble a quiz: the participants will not only have to solve problems, but also competently manage the game’s currency. You can apply for the tournament until March 17.

The third competition for schoolchildren is called the Global Diversity Intellectual Biathlon (GRIB). This is an interdisciplinary tournament on the topic of biodiversity, in which schoolchildren will compete in knowledge of biology, ecology, chemistry and geography. To compete in knowledge in the field of natural sciences, you need to apply before March 15.

According to Artem Shishov, director of the Center for Pedagogical Excellence, all interdisciplinary intellectual competitions in which schoolchildren participate develop those skills that cannot be obtained by writing an Olympiad in just one subject.

“We specifically carry out these projects in the spring to show students how interesting it is to participate in intellectual competitions, to inspire them to write the All-Russian and List Olympiads in the next academic year,” said Artem Shishov. – For each championship, our methodologists have developed a special game plot that will not leave schoolchildren indifferent.
