More than 90 children and teachers became infected with an intestinal infection at a school in Ryazan

At MBOU “School No. 1 named after. V.P. Ekimetskaya” in Ryazan, 91 people became infected with norovirus infection (acute intestinal infection), including children and school staff. About it reported regional department of Rospotrebnadzor.
The school has been suspended since October 27. Rospotrebnadzor specialists are still establishing the cause of norovirus infection: washes from surfaces and samples of finished products in the canteen will be sent for laboratory testing.
Together with employees of the prosecutor’s office, Rosportebnadzor is also conducting an unscheduled inspection of an organization that supplies meals to schoolchildren. The school is being disinfected.
On October 26, students at a Ryazan school began complaining on social networks about feeling unwell. On the same day, Rospotrebnadzor and the prosecutor’s office began an investigation, during which they discovered three cases of children contracting an intestinal infection.
As the Ryazan administration told Interfax, the school also exceeded the morbidity threshold for influenza and ARVI. Previously, seven classes were closed for quarantine.
