More than 80 thousand Sverdlovsk residents took part in the Cross of the Nation race

Today in the Sverdlovsk region, the all-Russian race “Cross of the Nation” was held. More than 80 thousand people took part in the sporting event. Famous athletes entered the distance: Olympic Games participant Oleg Kulkov; vice-champion of Europe, multiple champion of Russia in diving in a pair Evgeny Novosyolov; repeated champion of Russia in weightlifting Yegor Klimonov and others. In Yekaterinburg, 16,674 people took to the start line, the UrFU press service said. The runners started from the main building of UrFU along Mira Street and Lenin Avenue.
Professional athletes ran distances of 8 kilometers (men), 4 kilometers (women). Young athletes from 11 to 15 years old covered a distance of 1 kilometer.
“Cross of the Nation” – All-Russian day of running in the territory of the Russian Federation. The Sverdlovsk region joined the campaign in 2019. Then 50 thousand people took part in the race.
