More than 700 roofs of residential buildings will be overhauled in Moscow

More than 700 roofs of apartment buildings will be repaired in the capital by specialists from the Urban Services Complex this year. Deputy Mayor of the Moscow Government Pyotr Biryukov spoke about this on Friday, April 12.
According to him, the work will be carried out as part of the regional capital repair program. A total of 712 roofs will be repaired, of which 427 are flat roofs and 285 are pitched metal roofs.
“We will renew the most roofs in the Central, Northern and Western administrative districts – 142, 105 and 65, respectively,” said Pyotr Biryukov.
The deputy mayor of the capital explained that the list of works includes a complete replacement of the roofing, repair of slab joints, fencing, and places where the roof meets the gables and cornices. At the same time, there are peculiarities of major repairs of flat roofs – this is a seasonal type of work that can only be carried out at above-zero temperatures, Biryukov noted. Pitched metal roofs can be replaced year-round.
The head of the Municipal Services Complex emphasized that the capital repair program in Moscow is one of the largest housing modernization projects not only in Russia, but also in the world. It includes more than 29 thousand houses with a total area of over 290 million square meters. During the implementation of the program, that is, since 2015, roofs have been repaired in more than eight thousand residential buildings.
