More than 5 thousand people donated blood for those wounded in the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall

In two days, more than 5 thousand residents of Moscow and the Moscow region donated blood for those wounded in the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall. This was reported by the Federal Medical and Biological Agency (FMBA). Those wishing to donate blood were transported by bus from blood donation centers near Moscow to other points.

“So, on Saturday in Moscow and the Moscow region, more than 5 thousand people donated blood for the victims in the Crocus City Hall, demonstrating unity at the time of difficult trials and providing personal support to the victims,” the statement says. Telegram channel agencies.

The day after the terrorist attack, queues began to form at blood donation points. On the first day after the terrorist attack, March 23, 4 thousand residents of the Moscow region donated blood.

Now in Moscow and the Moscow region there are sufficient supplies of blood and its components: 880 liters of erythrocyte-containing components and 9 tons of plasma are ready for urgent distribution. In total, there are 19 thousand liters of erythrocyte-containing components in permanent storage, 7.5 thousand liters of components in long-term storage (rare groups and phenotypes), as well as 450 thousand liters of plasma. This will allow uninterrupted provision of services to all patients in the country’s medical institutions for four to six months.

Donors were transported free of charge from queues to centers where fewer people came by 26 Mosgortrans buses. Those who came to donate blood were fed and given hot drinks. Donors could warm up on the buses.
