More than 400 sites remain flooded in the Angara region due to flooding

In the Irkutsk region, due to flooding caused by heavy rains, 403 household plots in settlements and gardening areas of six districts and two cities remain flooded, more than 100 people were evacuated from their places of residence. How informs Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, the hydrological situation in these territories remains under special control.
“The situation in the Angarsk urban district remains the most difficult, where about 280 household plots are flooded. In order to reduce the negative effects of floods in this area, the Yenisei Basin Water Administration reduced the discharge costs of the Irkutsk HPP to 2,400 cubic meters per second.
It is also noted that, despite the gradual decline in water in the flooded areas, the region “continues to have an unfavorable meteorological forecast.” In particular, the water level in the Iya River near the city of Tulun is predicted to rise to 750–780 cm, with a critical level of 750 cm. As of today, July 7, the water level in the river is 710 cm.
