More than 4,000 decorative light structures will decorate Moscow for the New Year and Christmas holidays, Petr Biryukov, deputy mayor of the capital, said on Sunday.
In the near future, the installation of light arches will begin on Tverskaya, Manezhnaya, Pushkinskaya squares, in Gazetny and Kamergersky lanes, Novopushkinsky square, on Kuznetsky Most street.
The Vitali Fountain on Revolution Square will traditionally be decorated with a tent arch.
As Biryukov noted, this year the same structures that were used to decorate Moscow in previous years will be used for the festive decoration of the city.
In November, on the Active Citizen portal, about 300 thousand people expressed their opinion on the question in what format Moscow will celebrate the New Year. More than 80% of those who voted supported the festive decoration of the capital. 52% suggested to refrain from mass street concerts.
