More than 3.1 million vehicle passages have been recorded on the M-12 Vostok highway since the opening of the last section at the end of last year, the state company Avtodor reported. The most popular section is the Balashikha bypass in the Moscow region, where on average 22 thousand cars per day are recorded, and on peak days – more than 42 thousand cars per day. The second most popular route is from the Central Ring Road to Orekhovo-Zuevo, with an average of 17 thousand cars passing through it every day. The third is the section from Orekhovo-Zuevo to Petushki, where about 13 thousand cars are recorded per day.

The traffic record along the entire highway was recorded on December 30, 2023: on that day, motorists made more than 91 thousand trips. During the New Year holidays, drivers drove along the M-12 almost 740 thousand times, Avtodor reported.

The 810-kilometer M-12 highway from Moscow to Kazan, we recall, was built in three years and cost more than 900 billion rubles. Its last section was opened on December 21, 2023. In 2024, the route will be extended to Yekaterinburg by including sections of the M-7 after reconstruction and construction of city bypasses, as well as the construction of a new direction Dyurtyuli-Achit.
