Interregional judo competitions in memory of Hero of Russia Oleg Viznyuk are being held in Bryansk. Young representatives of Moscow, Belgorod, Kaluga, Lipetsk, Voronezh, Oryol, Kursk, Tver, Moscow and Tula regions, as well as athletes from Ingushetia and Crimea, arrived in the regional center to participate in the large-scale tournament.
Governor Aleksandr Bogomaz wished the guys a fair fight and emphasized that judo in the Bryansk region has become increasingly popular over the years. Today, more than 2.5 thousand boys and girls are engaged in this type of wrestling. Local trainers taught judo techniques to over 200 masters of sports, and thousands of boys and girls received professional sports training.
At the same time, the region is famous for its famous fellow countrymen. Honored Master of Sports of the USSR Valery Divisenko became a real legend. He is the only Soviet judoka to win the Japan Cup. Famous judokas Yuri Bozha and Natalya Kuzyutina were also raised in the Bryansk region, the head of the region said in his Telegram channel.
