More than 1,500 people moved inland in Zaporozhye region

1552 people left the territory of five districts and two front-line cities of the Zaporozhye region, more than 600 of them are children, informed Acting Governor of the region Yevgeny Balitsky in his Telegram channel.

On May 5, Balitsky warned that residents of 18 border settlements in the Zaporozhye region, including Energodar, would be relocated deep into the region for security reasons. He attributed this decision to the increased shelling of settlements located in close proximity to the line of contact.

Today, the acting head of the region clarified that the operational services continue to work on the temporary movement of residents of the front-line territories deep into the region.

“1,552 people, including 632 minors, 145 patients of the psycho-neurological center, including 10 people with limited mobility, have already been moved from the territory of five districts and two front-line cities in an organized manner. Also, people leave dangerous territories on their own in their own vehicles,” he wrote.

On May 6, Vladimir Rogov, a member of the main council of the administration of the Zaporozhye region, chairman of the movement “We are with Russia”, admitted that the list of evacuated settlements that are located near the line of contact could be expanded in the region.

Balitsky also wrote that the first thousand residents have already been placed in rooms, they have everything they need: food, a place to sleep, constant contact and expert advice. The authorities of the region instructed to complete the payment of monetary compensation to temporarily displaced citizens in the amount of 10,000 rubles as soon as possible, he added.
