“Fair Russia – For Truth” will not postpone the congress because of the attempt on Prilepin

“Fair Russia – For Truth” (SRZP) does not intend to postpone the congress because of the assassination attempt on its co-chairman Zakhar Prilepin, reported TASS party press office. The event will take place on the scheduled date, May 20.
“The congress will be held according to plan. Thank God, party co-chairman Zakhar Prilepin is alive. We all wish him a speedy recovery! We do not plan to change anything… We are preparing for the elections. We cannot be intimidated,” the SRZP said.
The SRZP congress will be held in the village of Rozhdestveno near Moscow. On the party website, Mr. Prilepin is listed as one of the participants in the event. On the agenda of the congress is the election of the chairman and co-chairs of the party, as well as the presidium of the central council and other party bodies.
The car, in which Zakhar Prilepin was, was blown up the day before, on May 6. Prilepin’s driver Alexander Shubin died on the spot. On the same day, the police detained the alleged bomber, Alexander Permyakov. During the interrogation, the man said that he acted on the instructions of the SBU and laid two anti-tank mines on the route of the car. The ICR qualified the incident as a terrorist attack.
