More than 1000 skiers have registered for the anniversary Yugra ski marathon

In the two weeks since the start of registration for the X Yugorsky Ski Marathon, partnered by Otkritie Bank, more than 1,000 participants have already registered. Last year it took about three weeks to register so many skiers.
The largest number of participants to date has declared for a distance of 50 km freestyle – 367 people, the classic marathon attracted the attention of 75 skiers. Another 357 people signed up for the shortest distance – 5 km, 246 applications were submitted for the half marathon. Registration for the marathon opened on February 1 on the website ugraloppet.ru, for participants with early registration, the organizers provided for reduced registration fees.
The marathon is becoming an increasingly popular sporting event in Russia. This year, skiers from 164 cities in 31 regions of our country, as well as guests from Kazakhstan, have already registered for it. The youngest participant in the race is 1 year old, the oldest is 78 years old. There were twice as many men as women at the start.
“Record registration rates indicate a high interest in the marathon and its popularity among Russian skiers. I am sure that famous athletes, members of the Russian cross-country skiing team, and our Olympic champions will take part in the anniversary race,” said Vitaly Mosunov, manager of the West Siberian branch of Otkritie Bank.
The Yugra ski marathon has been held in Khanty-Mansiysk since 2013 by the government of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug-Yugra, AU YugraMegaSport, the Ski Racing Federation of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug-Yugra in partnership with Otkritie Bank. This year the marathon will take place on April 7-8, on the first day the competition will be held at a distance of 50 km in the classic style, on the second day – the race for all other distances in the free style. Registration for the marathon is open on the ugraloppet.ru website until April 6th.
