More than 1000 athletes came to the start of the Gran Fondo bike ride in Polenovo

On September 3, on the basis of the State Memorial Historical, Artistic and Natural Museum-Reserve of V.D. Polenov, a stage of the Gran Fondo Russia cycling series was held. More than 1000 athletes from different regions of Russia took part in the races.
Cyclists overcame a scenic route with a total climb of 840 m at three distances to choose from: 30, 50 and 100 km.

“One of the priorities of the federal project “Sport is the norm of life” of the national project “Demography” is to involve as many people as possible in sports. Events such as Gran Fondo help to popularize a healthy lifestyle, unite amateurs and professionals at the start. Cycling is loved in Tula, and it is gratifying that the number of fans of this direction is growing, ”said Alexander Rossikhin.
All athletes received commemorative medals.
On the eve of the mass race, a rich cultural program was organized in Polenovo: outdoor yoga, a jazz concert, children’s animation, a mini-football tournament and much more.
The Gran Fondo series of road cycling races has been held in the Tula region for the fourth year and brings together amateurs and experienced cyclists. This year the races were held in Dubensky and Zaoksky districts. The Gran Fondo routes run along picturesque trails near major cities and combine elements of cycling and cycling.
