In the city of The Hague in the Netherlands, more than 1.5 thousand people were detained for blocking the highway, this is stated on the local police page on Twitter.

The detainees are eco-activists, they opposed the allocation of state subsidies for mining.

“During the blocking of the A12 highway, 1,579 activists were detained today, 40 of them are under investigation,” the police said in a statement.
