“Monopoly of incompetence”: Arestovich named two catastrophic mistakes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Former adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Alexey Arestovich (listed in Russia as terrorists and extremists) named two catastrophic mistakes of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. In his opinion, this is a waste of too many resources on Bakhmut and the lack of defensive structures.

Arestovich noted that many, including himself, had high expectations from the Ukrainian counteroffensive, but they did not materialize. He emphasized that too many troops and equipment were spent on Bakhmut, which should have been sent to the south.

“A breakthrough in the south would give us strategic success in the war and the seizure of strategic initiative – political, moral, military,” Arestovich said.

He also pointed out that the Ukrainian Armed Forces did not build similar “Surovikin Lines” defense structures. Such structures would dramatically increase combat stability.

According to him, strategic mistakes are followed by mistakes in public administration, foreign and domestic policy. He clarified that we are talking about corruption, the prospect of reducing aid to Ukraine, “tightening the screws” within the country and deteriorating relations with neighbors. He entitled all this as a “monopoly of incompetence,” emphasizing that the Ukrainian leadership has long exhausted its competence.
