MISiS students and young teachers have developed a program that allows them to solve complex computational problems, including breaking ciphers.
The technology is a set of quantum algorithms that can be used on a large number of computers without changing the source code. One of the most successful products of this kind is the PennyLane open source library.
As one of the authors of the work, the head of the laboratory of quantum information technologies of the University “MISiS” Alexei Fedorov, said, a group of young scientists has developed a package of tools that is necessary for the implementation of Shor’s quantum algorithm. And it, in turn, allows you to quickly pick up a key to data encrypted using the RSA algorithm. By the way, to date, hacking RSA is considered one of the most successful tasks for quantum computers.
