Mishustin: the industry will not return to work based on technology imports

Russia needs to achieve technological sovereignty in the industrial sector, there will be no return to work models based on the import of foreign technologies. About it declared Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at the Innoprom International Industrial Exhibition.

“It is necessary to achieve technological sovereignty in all critical industries without exception. Of course, this is a serious challenge for our industry. But there will be no return to the previous models of work – based on the import of foreign technologies,” he said.

The Russian industry, Mishustin explained, in this regard, will have to independently produce the entire range of competitive high-tech products. This requires a “completely different” level of interaction between the state, science and industry, the prime minister stressed. Therefore, the government, he recalled, in May approved the Concept of the country’s technological development, which “will give a powerful impetus to the implementation” of machine tool building, radio electronics, light-tonnage chemistry, shipbuilding and aircraft building and other key areas.

“In total, at least ten such megaprojects will be deployed with guaranteed funding for the entire implementation period. Their implementation will also help in the development of the entire technological chain for the production of raw materials, materials, components and accessories,” Mishustin added.

According to the Concept of Technological Development, by 2030 Russia should have its own scientific, personnel and technological base of critical and end-to-end technologies. By this time, the national economy should ensure the production of high-tech products – chips and other microelectronics, high-precision machine tools and robotics, aerospace technology, drones, medicines and medical equipment, telecommunications equipment and software. At the same time, the share of such domestic goods in the total volume of consumption should be at least 75%.

In addition, the government approved a list of mega-projects aimed at the development and production of priority high-tech products. They are connected, in particular, with the localization of the production of necessary medicines, medical devices and equipment and the production of critically important chemical products, priority machine tool, electronic and radio-electronic products, ships and ship equipment, and aircraft.
