Mishustin: Foreign companies have worked and are working comfortably in Russia

The Russian authorities will support the business projects of foreign companies if they decide to deploy them in the Russian Federation, even if they are enterprises from unfriendly states, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said during a report on government work for 2022 for the State Duma.
“We created all the necessary conditions for the work of those companies that see their future in Russia. Including for foreign business from unfriendly states. Despite all the restrictions, the denial of property rights, and the discriminatory measures that Russian business faced in the West, foreign companies have worked and work comfortably with us,” the head of the Cabinet emphasized.
At the same time, the prime minister stressed that if foreign companies decide to quit business management and do not care about “the future of their enterprises and employees,” the Russian authorities “will protect the interests of the people.”
Mr. Mishustin also said that the government will continue to strive to create favorable conditions for private initiative and attract capital. Over the past year, among other things, the authorities managed to achieve a “reasonable risk sharing between the state and business” and fine-tune a set of support measures (infrastructure budget loans, project financing, PPP, offset and special investment contracts).
