Russia has simplified the rules for issuing certificates for combat veterans. Now, to obtain a document, military personnel do not need to submit applications, reported at a meeting of the Coordination Council on the needs of the special operation, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
“In order to save our defenders from paperwork, the procedure for issuing a combat veteran’s certificate has been simplified. To complete it, you no longer need to provide a personal statement; departments will do everything on their own based on existing information. This will allow fighters and their families to receive benefits and assistance more quickly,” Mishustin explained.
The prime minister added that the government continues to work to provide all necessary social guarantees to military personnel. Everyone who participates in the special operation will receive the status of a combat veteran, and every military man will have access to support measures provided by the state, the head of the Cabinet emphasized.
President Vladimir Putin previously proposed promoting special operations veterans to leadership positions in the Armed Forces, law enforcement agencies and intelligence services. According to him, during the fighting, “parquet generals” were discovered in the troops, but they were quickly replaced by the right people.
