Mishustin assigns supervision of high-tech areas to vice-premiers

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin distributed among his deputies the duties related to the supervision of certain high-tech areas (end-to-end technologies) in various sectors of the economy. This is reported on site government.
“The development of these areas will allow creating new industries and launching the production of products and services that will significantly improve the quality of people’s lives. Projects using end-to-end technologies are being implemented as part of agreements of intent between the government and state-owned corporations,” the report says.
How responsibilities are divided:
- First Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Belousov will be personally responsible for the development of promising space systems and services, and will also carry out general coordination of issues related to the development of end-to-end technologies;
- vice premier Tatyana Golikova will oversee the development of genetic technologies;
- Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov authorized to be responsible for the development of technology of new materials and substances;
- vice premier Alexander Novak will oversee the following areas: energy storage systems, technologies for the transmission of electrical energy and distributed intelligent energy systems, the development of hydrogen energy based on natural gas and on the basis of nuclear energy;
- Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko will oversee the development of artificial intelligence, modern and promising mobile networks, quantum computing and quantum communications, as well as new industrial software and new Internet communication technologies.
The report notes that both decisions were taken in pursuance of instructions from Russian President Vladimir Putin. Following the meeting of the Council for Strategic Development and National Projects in July 2022, the President set the task of identifying those responsible for achieving the goals of technological development.
