Mishustin appoints Komissarov Rector of RANEPA - Kommersant

Alexey Komissarov became the rector of the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) under the President of the Russian Federation. The order on his appointment was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. This was reported press office government.

Prior to his appointment to the post of rector, Alexey Komissarov served as vice-rector, director of the Academy’s Higher School of Public Administration. Currently, he also runs the “School of Governors” (training program for the top managerial reserve).

“The prefix “acting” is a thing of the past. Long awaited moment for me. A lot is already being done for the development of the academy, and even more victories await us ahead!” – Mr. Komissarov wrote in his Telegram channel.

On January 23, the previous rector of the academy, Vladimir Mau, was dismissed from the post of rector of the RANEPA at his own request due to health reasons. His duties as Vice-Rector all this time were performed by Alexei Komissarov. Mr. Komissarov is the General Director of the ANO “Russia – a Land of Opportunities”, as well as a member of the Board of Directors of JSC “Russian Railways”. In 2013, he resigned from his PhD due to borrowings revealed in his dissertation. In 2011, at the Academy, Alexey Komissarov defended his Ph.D. thesis on the topic “Development of Entrepreneurship in an Innovative Economy”.
