The Russian economy is successfully resisting Western sanctions, now business is rebuilding logistics and cooperating with responsible partners. This statement was made by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at a conference on interregional cooperation in Tajikistan.

“We are successfully resisting such pressure. We ensure the stability of the economy – contrary to negative forecasts. We are taking measures to stabilize the situation on the labor market. We support citizens and companies. Our business is rebuilding logistics, refocusing on responsible partners,” he said (quote according to TASS).

Mishustin pointed to turbulence and strategic tensions in the global economy. According to him, this situation was the result of systemic mistakes in the financial and economic policies of Western countries, exacerbation of geopolitical contradictions and the imposition of sanctions against the Russian Federation.

Against the backdrop of the start of a special operation in Ukraine, the United States, Great Britain and the EU countries imposed large-scale sanctions against the Russian Federation, which affected many sectors of the economy, including energy, the high-tech sector, aviation, banking and mining, the automotive industry, etc. The head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen noted that the goal is to “plunge the Russian economy into recession for decades.”

At the same time, the Russian authorities claimed that the West had failed to achieve its goal. In January, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that nothing happened to Russia that “the enemy predicted” for it. The head of state pointed to the composure of the citizens of the Russian Federation and their readiness for challenges.

During his address to the Federal Assembly on February 21, Putin declaredthat Western countries launched an “economic front” against Russia, tried to “collapse the ruble and provoke destructive inflation”, but their calculations did not materialize. The President stressed that “the West has not achieved anything anywhere and will not achieve anything.”
