Mironov asked the Prosecutor General’s Office to check the Kandinsky neural network of Sberbank due to anti-Russian content

Leader of the faction “A Just Russia – For the Truth!” in the State Duma, Sergei Mironov asked Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov to check the activities of Sberbank in terms of the compliance of the content of the Kandinsky neural network (a free generative model developed by Sberbank) with Russian legislation. According to the parliamentarian, the algorithm generates anti-Russian materials.

Mr. Mironov claims that during testing, the Kandinsky system (in version 2.1) generated materials in response to requests about Russia that contributed to “the formation of its negative image and the positive image of unfriendly countries.” So, for requests with the words “Russian”, “Russia”, “Russians”, “Russian flag”, “flag of the Russian Federation”, the neural network did not generate images in the colors of the flag of the Russian Federation, consisting of three stripes, the deputy noted. In addition, for the request “Donbass is Russia” or “I love Donbass”, the algorithm created content in the colors of the Ukrainian flag (Kommersant was convinced of this), and for the request “I am a z-patriot” – “an image of a creature resembling a zombie “, said the parliamentarian.

In this regard, Mr. Mironov suggested that when creating Kandinsky, the developers used the developments of unfriendly states without adaptation. “A special danger is that Kandinsky users are also underage schoolchildren, who will form a negative perception of their country,” Mironov emphasized in Telegram.

In March, the leaders of the IT industry demanded to suspend the development of advanced neural networks. Industry members including Elon Musk and Steve Wozniak believe that humanity needs to develop security protocols for working with these tools before developing them further.
