Miraculous rescue: a teenager spent three days in the forest in severe frost and survived

The story of a real miraculous salvation happened in Vladimir. The 18-year-old spent three days in the local forest. All this time, there was heavy snowfall in the region, and weather forecasters announced a drop in night temperature to -27 ℃. A search movement volunteer told MK how the guy survived and what it cost him.
Andrey disappeared on Friday, December 1st. On that day, an abnormal snowfall was declared in the Vladimir region. The snow was falling like a wall. Visibility was zero, and the frost was getting more and more intense. Andrei was walking around the city on business and decided to take a shortcut through the nearest park. The road was familiar to him, so he didn’t even think that he could get lost.
While the guy was walking, the path was covered with snow before his eyes. I had to make my way through “virgin lands”. It became more and more difficult to walk, but the “wood” did not end. On the contrary, the trees were getting taller, and the distance between them was getting smaller. Andrey constantly tripped over snow-covered logs and branches. Eventually he realized that he was lost.
– The guy’s orientation came on December 1st. Dad called, he was very excited,” a search service volunteer told MK. “Dad told me he couldn’t get through to him.” And he added that the guy was dressed warmly, but for the city, not for the forest, especially for the night. Clothes are all black: jacket, trousers, hat, boots. Even the backpack is black.
The search operation began on December 2. Advertisements were posted around the city and on social networks. A large search party gathered – 75 people. Taking turns, the volunteers looked for the guy in the nearby forest. The search was complicated by the snow that continued to fall.
– The most difficult thing was that we did not know the entry point into the forest. We couldn’t contact him, so we had no idea where to look,” a search participant told MK. – We searched around the city, worked out all possible entrances to the forest: paths, paths, footprints in the snow. Unfortunately, the tracks were quickly covered with snow. The weather conditions were extreme. And Andrei’s clothes are the most inappropriate for detection: only black things.
Incredibly, a day later Andrei called home himself. He said that he got lost in the forest, fell and could not get up. But this orientation did not help either. The guy didn’t know where he was. It was not possible to trace the call – only the square from which the signal came was identified. Big enough. The search continued.
– The first task is to inspect the side of the forest road together, check the exits into the forest, and work on the response. The second task is to inspect the copse and the field behind it. We worked as a group of five people, and by the middle of the night we returned to headquarters with nothing. The third task – two people with thermal imagers are added to our group, we go into the forest again. Field. Streams. One of the searchers falls into a stream under the ice. What saved me was the tape that the whole group used to wrap their legs before leaving. The trouser leg is wet, the boots are dry. It’s getting light. We return to headquarters and release the group. The fourth task – the three of us check another small area, – this is how a member of the search party describes the rescue of Andrei.
Three days of exhausting searches yielded no results. They say that when another tired group came to replace one tired group – sleepy and rested – one of the volunteer girls said that she had a dream. That Andrey should be looked for in the swamp.
In the square determined by the bell there was a swamp. It was in the group’s plans to go there one way or another. The volunteers set off in the given direction. On the evening of December 4, a half-dead guy was found near a swamp.
– He was conscious. I was able to answer the call myself. Lying in the snow. Of course, numb and exhausted,” the search party member continues the story. “They immediately wrapped him in a “cocoon” – that’s what we call a thermal blanket. The social network reported that Andrei had been found and was alive.
An ambulance arrived at the scene, the guy was transported to the city hospital.
Now Andrey is in intensive care, his health condition is assessed as moderate. He has severe cold damage to the soft tissues of his lower extremities. Doctors are going to call federal centers to evacuate the patient there.
The coordination center of the search movement denies information about the clairvoyant.
– The search party does not resort to the help of psychics. We have our own search instructions, methods, and developments. We act strictly on them,” the search group coordinator told MK. – Every person has a desire to believe in miracles. Every time our relatives suggest that we turn to fortune tellers. It is clear that when a person is in despair, he wants to grab at everything. But we don’t do that.
According to volunteers, good health and the belief that they were looking for him helped the city boy to spend three days in the forest in the cold and survive. The main thing is not to despair and continue to fight for life. And one of the main modern methods of survival is to take care of your mobile phone.
– This primarily concerns relatives. If the lost person has a connection, then there is no need to call him every minute and ask how he is doing. The charge must be conserved, the search engines admonish.
