“Brocade, velvet, braid!”
A discussion about the appearance of State Duma deputies was sparked by a speech in parliament by the people’s representative in jeans. Member of the New People party Vladimir Plyakin received a remark from the speaker and a portion of criticism from his colleagues. And State Duma deputy Vitaly Milonov agreed to MK’s proposal to imagine what a uniform uniform for servants and elected representatives of the people might look like.
Since for Milonov personally both shocking things and insanely expensive suits on deputies and officials are equally unacceptable, he noted that it would be good to introduce a single uniform for deputies: everyone dressed the same, solemnly and strictly. The uniform disciplines people, and this is what the parliamentarian has been paying close attention to for many years: “Take a closer look: one official has a suit for 10,000 euros, another has burlap hanging from him, and the third deputy, in general, wears jeans,” he expressed his dissatisfaction with his appearance colleagues deputy.
“I believe that in the uniform for deputies it is necessary to use pre-revolutionary elements of the uniform of senators and members of the State Imperial Council,” says Vitaly Milonov, deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Issues of Protection of the Family, Paternity, Maternity and Childhood, to MK. – We had a great tradition! Brocade, velvet, braid! And judging by the appearance of the deputy, you are immediately imbued with some kind of awe and respect for the country they serve.
Yes, you can develop two versions of the uniform: formal and casual, for meetings. After all, no one is embarrassed that prosecutors, employees of Russian Railways or even the Ministry of Foreign Affairs wear uniforms? Why are deputies worse? We, after all, create the laws by which the whole country lives.
