Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee for Family Protection Vitaly Milonov, in an address to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Vladimir Kolokoltsev, asked to check organizations that advertise services for obtaining a deferment from the army. In the appeal, the deputy writes that recently there have often been advertisements on the Internet about granting a change of citizenship and obtaining a deferment from military service. The deputy notes that in one of the advertisements, potential clients are offered political asylum in one of the European Union countries. At the same time, the authors of the ad propose to indicate “facts of persecution” by the Russian state. According to Vitaly Milonov, such advertising is a hidden form of high treason.

“I ask you to conduct a comprehensive audit of the activities of such organizations (engaged in advertising deferments from the army) on the territory of our country and, if necessary, take response measures,” the appeal says. The deputy believes that through advertising of such services there is sabotage, as well as the dissemination of “enemy propaganda” to undermine national unity.

Previously, regional authorities paid attention to similar advertising on the Internet. In the spring of 2023, the FAS in Tatarstan issued a fine to a law firm that suggested that conscripts “legally not serve in the army.” The speaker of the Bashkir parliament called the clients of such companies draft dodgers and said that the Bashkir kurultai would propose to the Duma to ban “aggressive advertising” of “legal exemption” from military service.
