A disc containing millions of dollars worth of Bitcoin was accidentally dumped in a landfill in Wales.
How reports Daily Mail, an unusual incident occurred in the Welsh city of Newport in Wales – a disk with bitcoins, the assets of which are currently estimated at approximately one and a half billion pounds sterling, was accidentally thrown into a local landfill.
As the publication clarifies, the disc belonged to investor James Hallwells. It ended up in the landfill by accident, when the businessman’s girlfriend decided to clean up and threw away the only storage medium with data to access his Bitcoin wallet.
As a result, the Newport administration assigned guards to the landfill.
