Military expert Viktor Baranets revealed what the fall of Avdiivka would mean for the Ukrainian army.
He drew attention to the fact that Avdeevka was the strongest fortified point of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which was fortified even more than Azovstal. Therefore, Russian troops used artillery, rocket systems and huge five-ton bombs there. At the same time, Baranets urged to wait for an official statement that Avdiivka is completely under the control of Russia.
The expert emphasized in interview News.ru that the liberation of the industrial zone is a very significant step, because now Russian troops can head to the administrative borders of the Donetsk region.
Baranets added that the loss of Avdiivka would be “a powerful moral blow for both the authorities and the military of Ukraine.” He expressed confidence that this will be reflected in the further course of the SVO.
