The national award “Poet of the Year” is rightfully considered the most prestigious in the literary community. This year one of its triumphs was the poet and businessman Mikhail Gutseriev.
A solemn ceremony of presenting the authoritative literary national award “Poet of the Year”, which is recognized by many as the most prestigious award in the Russian literary community, took place last weekend at the Concert Hall of the Government of Moscow.
The award is organized by the Russian Union of Writers, the event is supported by two federal departments at once – the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Digital Communications, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation.
The most honorable is considered to be the main nomination of the award – “Poet of the Year”. This year, Mikhail Gutseriev became one of the laureates of the award in this nomination.
The search for talented authors whose works make a significant contribution to Russian literature is the goal pursued by the organizers of the Poet of the Year award. Every year, the jury determines the winners in six nominations at once, one of which is the main one – this is “Poet of the Year”, where there is no link to the direction of the participant’s work. Also, the winners are determined in the following categories: “Songs”, “Humor”, “Debut”, “Lyrics”, “Children’s Literature”. Last year, by the way, Mikhail Gutseriev was already noted by the jury of the award – he received an award in the “Songs” nomination.
The competition for the Poet of the Year award of the Russian Union of Writers is held throughout the year. At the first stage, the authors are selected by a special editorial board of the Poetry.ru portal, which for many years has united many poets from Russia and other countries. 150 participants made it to the final part of the competition this year. And then the Grand Jury is connected to the process of choosing the winners and laureates. There are no random people in the jury, there are only famous poets, prose writers and publicists, as well as recognized literary critics.
According to the already established tradition, the awards found their heroes on the eve of UNESCO World Poetry Day, which is celebrated on March 21.
Let us add that last fall, as part of the annual Yesenin Prize “My Rus'”, held on the birthday of Sergei Yesenin, Mikhail Gutseriev was also awarded the title of laureate. And more recently, his poetic talent was not left without recognition in the framework of the prestigious Victoria Music Prize held in Moscow. Mikhail Gutseriev became a triumph in the nomination “Poet of the Year”.
