Mikhail Galustyan confirmed the acquisition of Armenian citizenship, but promised “not to dump like some”

Showman Mikhail Galustyan, who, according to Armenian media, received Armenian citizenship (the artist born in the Krasnodar Territory has Russian citizenship) does not plan to leave Russia. In a comment following yesterday’s message about the citizenship of Armenia, Mr. Galustyan does not deny the fact of obtaining citizenship.
“I want to make it clear so that there are no misunderstandings. Firstly, I am Armenian, and I am proud of it. Armenia is my historical and ethnic homeland, which, I am sure, will always be in good neighborly and friendly relations with Russia,” the showman commented on Instagram (owned by Meta, recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation and banned; quote from “RIA News”) reports that he received Armenian citizenship.
Dual citizenship has been allowed in Armenia since 2007.
“Relax. I love Russia and I don’t dump it anywhere from here, like some people. I have many friends, jobs, contracts, fans here. Russia is my Motherland, period,” wrote Mikhail Galustyan.
He spoke about obtaining Armenian citizenship in an interview with news.am 2 April. “Justice has prevailed. Finally, I received Armenian citizenship, ”he said at the presentation of the Parajanov Club House residential complex project in Armenia, where, according to media reports, he is going to become a resident.
After the start of the military operation, Mr. Galustyan was included in the sanctions lists of Ukraine and Canada.
