Mikhail Boyarsky told why he got rid of business in Russia

The reason why Mikhail Boyarsky left his business became known. Until recently, the famous artist was a co-owner of companies related to rental, property management and the field of law. Within six months, the legendary actor transferred shares in three different companies.

The exit proceeded in stages: in July, the actor and singer transferred a 30-property share in the Light organization to his relative Nikolai Boyarsky. In October, the main d’Artagnan of Russian cinema re-registered his own share in the House Market company to Alfiya Tenisheva. In November, he transferred his assets in the Avtotrans company to Elena Kostsova.

Three years ago, Boyarsky suffered a severe coronavirus infection. The artist’s colleagues said that all these deals are related to his state of health. Boyarsky has repeatedly complained about post-Covid syndrome. The artist began to limp; his colleagues did not rule out that the lameness was a consequence of the coronavirus. Since then, according to the 73-year-old artist, he has not been able to fully rehabilitate himself. We received answers to our questions in an exclusive interview with the legendary artist.

“It was the brothers’ business,” People’s Artist of the RSFSR Mikhail Boyarsky explains to MK. – It was headed by Alexander Boyarsky, among the shareholders were Nikolai Boyarsky and I, together with my brothers. But after my older brother (Alexander) passed away, we decided to transfer everything we have to his wife, Elena Kostsova. And she did not receive such a large inheritance. Nevertheless, this is still support for Elena, and, of course, my brother and I renounced all our claims in her favor.

– What is the reason for your exit from business?

– I have never been a businessman. Neither departure nor arrival affects the economy of either the family or the city. I never took an active part there. I was there as a family member, as a relative. And there were dividends from the business; they were insignificant and symbolic. All this was done for ethical reasons: so that a woman who was left without a husband would have some means of subsistence.

– What problems did you encounter after you had coronavirus?

– The illness itself passed quite calmly. The only thing is that isolation and an incomprehensible fear of sitting alone in a room did not allow anyone near me. Then I was taken to the hospital, where all the procedures went smoothly. After leaving the hospital, problems began. Post-Covid syndrome affected me much more than the pandemic itself.

It took me a long time to recover. I had an unpleasant depression, from which I did not recover so quickly, and maybe I have not fully recovered yet. The consequences affected both memory and physical condition. When the symptoms disappeared, I returned to my family and continued my normal life.

– Your son heads the St. Petersburg branch of the United Russia party. What is your relationship with politician Sergei Boyarsky?

– We do not have a relationship along this line, we have a family line, we are father and son and we have a normal relationship, which I appreciate on his part. Sergei supports and helps me in all cases, just like my daughter, in fact. Sometimes they give us their grandchildren, and for me this is always a great help.

– Are you satisfied with your son’s professional choice?

– Thank God that he did not follow in his father’s and mother’s footsteps. I’m glad he chose a male profession. A daughter is allowed more than a man; she does not need to support the family, although she does this very professionally. She has more chances, she is a more theatrical person than my son.

– What and how do you live now?

“The only thing I have left, and God grant that this be the case for everyone, is family.” I have children, I have grandchildren, I have a wife. I have a theater in which I am still working, performing two plays. Now everyone in the theater (named after Lensoveta) is preparing for the 90th anniversary, which will take place on November 19. Together with Alisa Brunovna Freindlich we will remember the good moments from our theatrical life. Big bosses, a large number of friends, artists, and our acquaintances will come. So it will be a pleasant meeting. True, the theater of 90 years ago may have changed a lot, but nevertheless, I still live with the problems of the theater and the atmosphere that Igor Petrovich Vladimirov (chief director of the Lensovet Theater) created in it.

– What worries you most?

– If we speak a little with humor, I am worried about the situation of Zenit, the dismissal of Kerzhakov and Zyryanov. But I hope that on the 25th we will win in Sochi, the spirit of St. Petersburg, which supports Zenit, will not fall, and we will again become national champions.
