American corporation Microsoft will change default application selection system – now you will not need to specify a program for each type of file and link. Microsoft believes that this will give users more control over the system and help other developers take advantage of Windows 11.
Difficulty choosing default apps was introduced in Windows 11, which was not an issue in Windows 10. Now, to change the default program, you need to go to the “Settings” of the operating system, and then in the “Applications” section, install the program for each type of file and link. Microsoft is also currently testing a new feature that will allow apps to pin a primary or secondary icon to the taskbar.
In August 2021 Microsoft complicated Default Browser Selection Process – A primary application was now required for all link forms, including HTM, HTML, PDF, SHTML, SVG, WEBP, XHT, XHTML, FTP, HTTP, and HTTPS. The Edge browser then started dissuade users to install Google Chrome. Google, Firefox and Opera expressed their dissatisfaction with the new Microsoft settings.
