American corporation Microsoft updated Chromium software code, which brings new contrast and gamma settings to the Chrome browser to improve font and text rendering. Previously, Microsoft made similar changes to the Edge browser.

The improvements are made possible by integrating ClearType Text Tuner font technology into Chromium. Now Chrome and other apps based on this technology will be able to use improved fonts that look like they’re printed on a piece of paper. Previously, Chrome used Skia technology with clearly defined contrast and gamma values. Microsoft has also added touch support to Chromium and improved scrolling.

Previously Microsoft added in Windows 11, the integration of the Copilot AI assistant with the Microsoft 365 service. Also the company announced a new version of the Microsoft Office 2024 office suite, which does not require a subscription or Internet connection.
