Michael Jackson’s son sues his 93-year-old grandmother
Michael Jackson’s son Blanket has filed a lawsuit against his 93-year-old grandmother over the rights to his father’s songs. He demands to limit access to funds from the artist’s estate to cover legal costs. The Daily Mail reports this.
Let us remind you that the singer passed away almost 15 years ago, but disputes about his inheritance continue to this day.
Blanket Jackson, the youngest of Michael Jackson’s children, is seeking to prevent outsiders, including his 93-year-old grandmother Katherine, from using his inheritance funds for legal proceedings.
Previously, the executors of the artist’s will sold part of his musical rights, as the financial situation of his assets was unfavorable. Michael’s mother, Katherine, opposed the decision, saying her son would not approve of his music catalog being sold off. In February, Sony bought half of Jackson’s songs for $600 million.
Although the court rejected objections to the sale, the artist’s mother intends to appeal. Michael’s grandson is not confident in the success of this step and does not want to spend money on continuing litigation.
Michael Jackson’s older children refused to comment on this situation.
